The Philippines has recently announced that it is easing the rules for citizens of some more countries to enter its country. For which countries have these simplifications been made?
The biggest and most recent news is that the Philippines has opened its doors to citizens of India. Now Indian citizens can travel to the Philippines without a visa under special conditions.

Two easy ways for Indian citizens:

·         14-day visa-free entry (for tourism only):
Indians who have a passport with a validity of at least 6 months (valid for 6 months beyond their stay in the Philippines).
Those who have a hotel reservation or other confirmed accommodation arrangement.
Those who have sufficient funds to show that they can cover their expenses.
Those who have a confirmed onward or return ticket from the Philippines to their home country or to another country.
Duration: Such people can stay in the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days. It cannot be extended or converted into another visa.

·         30-day visa-free entry (for special visa holders):
Indians who have a passport with a validity of at least 6 months.
And those who have a current and valid visa or residence permit from the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Singapore, the United Kingdom, or Schengen countries (in Europe) can stay in the Philippines without a visa for up to 30 days.
They must also have a return or onward ticket from the Philippines.

Is Pakistan included?
No, Pakistan is not yet included in this new visa-free list. Pakistani passport holders still need a visa to visit the Philippines. You have to apply for a visa at the embassy or in some cases, you can also apply through e-Visa.

What is usually required for visa-free entry?
When a country grants visa-free entry to another country, there are some general requirements:

·         Passport: Your passport must be at least 6 months valid.

·         Return ticket: You must have a confirmed plane ticket to your home country or an onward country.

·         Sufficient funds: You must have sufficient funds to cover your expenses during your stay.

·         Tourist purpose: Your purpose of visiting the Philippines must be tourism or vacation only.
