New Zealand's Parent Boost Visa a New Visa Program Launched

New Zealand's New Parent Boost Visa Program

New Zealand Parent Boost Visa Program is a new special visa from the New Zealand government that has recently been introduced. The purpose of this visa is to allow parents (i.e. mothers, fathers) of New Zealand citizens and permanent residents to visit and live with their children in New Zealand for a long time. This is a visitor visa, not a residence visa. This is a great opportunity for families who are living in New Zealand and want their parents to be able to spend time with them for an extended period of time.

What are the benefits?
This visa will allow families to spend more time together, and it will also encourage skilled migrants who want to live there to come to New Zealand because their parents can now easily come and visit them.

You must maintain this insurance throughout your stay.

·         Financial Requirements: You must meet one of these three requirements:

b) Parents' own income: The parents' own monthly income must be equal to the New Zealand "Superannuation" (a pension-like amount).
c) Parents have personal funds: Parents must have enough money to support themselves (approximately NZD 160,000 for a single parent and NZD 250,000 for a couple).

·         Medical Check-ups:

Important: This is not a residence visa!
It is very important to note that this is only a visitor visa (i.e. a visa to visit or visit) and will not give you permanent residency in New Zealand. If you want to live in New Zealand permanently, there is a "Parent Category Resident Visa" for this which you have to apply for separately.
