Eligibility Requirements for the Ajou GKS-UIC Scholarship:

If you want to apply for this scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

 

You must not be a Korean citizen, nor must your parents be. You cannot apply if you have dual Korean citizenship.

You have completed high school or will complete it before the start of the program. You must have completed at least 12 years of education.

You must have excellent academic performance. That is, you must have scored at least 80% out of 100 in high school, or be in the top 20% of your class.

You must be under 25 years of age by the year of application. For example, for 2025 admission, you must have been born after March 1, 2000.

 

Ajou GKS-UIC Scholarship Program Time-Frame:

The following time frames have been set for the GKS-UIC Scholarship:

 

September: Scholarship announcement.

October: Deadline for submission of applications.

November: Results of the first round will be announced.

End of November: Ajou University will send the names of selected students to NIIED.

Late December: NIIED will select the final students for the scholarship.

Early January: NIIED will make the final announcement of the names of the GKS-UIC scholars.

Late February: Successful students will arrive in Korea and begin their program.

 

Ajou Scholarship Program Selection Procedure:

The selection for the scholarship is done in three major stages:

 

1.       University Selection:

First, Ajou University will review the applications and select the students. You will have to apply directly to Ajou University. The university will evaluate your academic record and eligibility according to the program.

 

2.       NIIED Screening:

Candidates who pass the first stage will be reviewed by a committee of NIIED (a government agency). The agency will consider the recommendations of the embassies to select the best students from each country.

 

3.       Final Selection:

NIIED will prepare the final list of candidates who pass the second stage. These students will then be informed of their selection and given further instructions for university admission and visa arrangements.
