Moroccan Government Scholarships 2025

The Moroccan government has announced scholarships for foreign students, including Pakistani students, to study. These scholarships are for those pursuing Bachelor's (General Degree), Masters, and PhD. These are fully funded scholarships, meaning that the Moroccan government itself will bear most of the expenses of your studies. A very important thing is HEC handles these scholarships in Pakistan and receives your applications. So you have to apply through HEC.

1. What Will You Get from the Scholarship? (Benefits)

These scholarships will give you all these benefits:

Full Tuition Fees:

Your university will not charge any fees, absolutely free.

Monthly Allowance (Pocket Money):

You will receive 1,750 Moroccan dirhams (approximately 175 US dollars) per month, this money will be given from September to August, that is, for a full 12 months.

Travel Expenses:

One-way air ticket to Morocco and one-way air ticket to return after completing your studies.

Accommodation:

You will also be provided with a place to live in the university dormitory (this is agreed upon with the university).

Health Insurance:

You will also be covered by health insurance, meaning that if you get sick, the cost of treatment will also be covered by the scholarship.

Opportunity to Learn French:

Most studies in Morocco are conducted in French. If you do not speak French, you will be given a free one-year French language course, which will be held at a specialized center in Rabat. Only after you pass this course will you be admitted to your original degree program.

2. Who Can Apply? (Requirements)

The following requirements must be met for Moroccan government scholarships:

Where Are You From?

You must be a citizen of Pakistan or Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Those who have dual citizenship cannot apply.

How Are You Doing in Studies?

You must have very good grades in your previous studies.

HEC Test:

You must have passed a specific HEC test, namely HAT (for Masters/PhD) or USAT (for Bachelors) and its score has not expired yet. If your test has not been taken or is out of date, please check the HEC website (ETC) and take a new test.

How Old Are You?

  • For Bachelors: You must be a maximum of 23 years old and have completed 12 years of education (such as F.Sc./A Levels).
  • For Masters: You must be a maximum of 35 years old and have completed 16 years of your Bachelor’s education.
  • For PhD: You must be a maximum of 45 years of age and have completed 18 years of your Masters.

Health and Records:

You must provide a certificate of good health from a doctor and a police clearance certificate (that you have no criminal record).

Intention to Speak French:

You must be prepared to study in French, as you will have to take a one-year French language course first, if required.

3. How to Apply?

The entire application process is online and is done through HEC’s scholarship portal:

Create an Account and Fill in Your Details:

If you do not already have an account, create a new one, then fill in all your details carefully.

Select a Scholarship:

After filling in the information, select “Moroccan Govt Scholarship Program” from the list of scholarships there.

Fill in the Form:

Fill in the online form very carefully and provide all the details correctly.

Prepare the Necessary Documents:

  • Certified copies of all your previous degree transcripts.
  • Certified copies of your degrees (two copies for Masters and PhD).
  • Your CV (biodata).
  • New passport-sized color photographs.
  • A police record certificate (new and sealed).
  • A medical certificate from a government hospital stating that you are completely healthy and free from any disease.
  • For Masters and PhD, if you have written a thesis (research paper), a copy of it must also be submitted.
  • A 500-word essay explaining why you want to pursue this degree and how it will benefit you and Pakistan.
  • A copy of your passport photo page.

Submit Online:

Upload all documents online and submit them before the deadline.

Nomination by HEC:

HEC will review your application and select candidates based on your test scores and academic record. Only those whose names are forwarded by HEC will have their applications sent to Morocco.

4. Important Dates (for 2025)

Application Deadline (on HEC Website):

June 12, 2025 (4:00 PM Pakistan time). This date is very important, so make sure to submit your application before then.

Start of Study:

Students who are selected will begin their studies in the new academic year 2025-2026.

5. Some Easy Tips for Success

Start Preparing Early:

The application process is quite long, so start as early as possible so that nothing is left out.

Score Well in HEC Tests:

It is very important to score well in HAT or USAT tests, as your name will be forwarded based on these.

Keep Your Documents Complete:

Prepare all the necessary documents on time and correctly. Don't miss anything.

Passion for French:

Although it is a first-year course, you should have the intention to learn French because your main studies will be in that language.

Choose the Right Department:

Choose the right department according to your interest and academic record so that you get admission.
