Eligibility Requirements for New Admissions:

·    The student who is applying and both his/her parents are not Korean citizens. Korean citizens, even if they have dual citizenship, cannot apply.

·     Student must have completed high school education from an accredited school (in their own country or abroad) or be completing it by the end of 2025.

·     A minimum score of 80 on the TOEFL iBT, or a score of 5.5 or higher on the IELTS.

·     Student who are native English speakers do not need to take this test.

·   If a person is working for a government or international organization and has a recommendation (letter of recommendation) from that organization, this may also be considered.

·     An interview may also be conducted if necessary.

Eligibility Requirements for Transfer Students:

Both the student and his/her parents must be foreigners (not Korean citizens). Proficiency in Korean or English is also required.

 

Korean Language Proficiency (provide proof of one of the following):

·      Achieving TOPIK Level 4 or higher.

·      Completed Level 4 or higher from the Korean Language Center of Kookmin University.

·   Completed Level 4 or higher from a Korean Language Institute of any four-year university.

·   Have studied at least one year (two semesters) at a Korean university (excluding international schools).

·     Have passed the Korean Language Proficiency Test administered by Kookmin University.

 

English Language Proficiency (for International Business School only):

·     TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 5.5 or higher.

·     Native English speakers.

·     Those who have studied at a university in English for one or more years.

·    For transfer in the second year: Have completed the first year or two semesters of a four-year university program, and have at least 33 credits (or 34 credits for some special fields such as engineering, etc.).

·    For transfer in the third year: Have completed the second year or four semesters, and have at least 65 credits (or 68 credits for some special fields).

·    Or have graduated from a good college, or have completed a reasonable portion of the courses required for a bachelor's degree abroad.

 

Required Documents for New Students:

·     Completed online application form (to be printed out).

·     A self-introduction essay and study plan, written by hand.

·    A high school graduation certificate or a certificate that you will graduate soon. This must be notarized.

·     High school mark sheet.

·    The student’s passport and photocopies of both parents’ ID cards.

·    If living in Korea, a copy of the alien registration card and a certificate from the Korean Immigration Office stating when you arrived in and left Korea (entry and exit certificate).

·    Official documents that prove the relationship between the student and his/her parents. For Chinese student, this should include a notarized certificate of family relationship and a family register.

·   A certificate of Korean language proficiency such as TOPIK certificate or proof of completion of a course from a Korean language institution.

·    For KMU International Business School students only, an English language proficiency certificate such as TOEFL or IELTS.

·     Korean bank passbook for fee refund

·     A photocopy of your ID card.

 

Required Documents for Transfer Students:

In addition to all the documents required for new students, transfer students must also submit:

·   A certificate of admission, graduation, or course completion from the college or university you attended previously.

·     An official mark sheet from your previous institution.

·    A document stating the graduation requirements for your previous program, such as how many credits you had and how many semesters you completed.
