Who Can Apply for ASTAR ACIS Scholarship 2026?

·         Both Singaporean citizens and citizens of other countries can apply.

·         If you are not a Singaporean citizen, you must have completed or are about to complete your degree (usually a Bachelor’s or Master’s) from a good university in Singapore.

·         You must have achieved at least a Second Upper Class Honors or equivalent in your previous degree. You can still apply if you are in the final semester of your degree, but the scholarship will only be awarded if you meet these criteria.

·         You must be enrolled in a PhD program at a Singapore university.

·         You must have a strong interest in research in computer science in corporate research labs, technology companies, starting your own start-up or universities.

 

For Mid-Term Applicants

This is for students who are already pursuing a PhD at a Singapore university:

·         Both Singapore citizens and citizens of other countries can apply.

·         If you are not a Singapore citizen, you must have completed your degree from a good university in Singapore.

·         You must have enrolled in a PhD at a Singapore university and have studied for at least one semester at the time of application.

·         You are doing well in your current PhD.

·         You have good research ability or have achieved some success in research before.

·         Your university supervisor should be one of your two academic referees.

 

Special for Mid-Term Scholars

If you receive a scholarship for half of the course, you will receive all the same benefits as those who receive the scholarship from the beginning. In addition, you will also receive a refund of all tuition fees paid from the first year of your PhD and other necessary expenses.
